Every single town has one. It’s that mysterious building that you used to walk past as a kid, painting a mental image inspired by your curiosity of what went on inside. As a teen, you itched to enter, eagerly anticipating the arrival of your 21st birthday as you bore witness to the neon lights and the sounds of a raucous Saturday night from the sidewalk. As a college student, at least one night on each holiday back home would be spent in these soggy confines, foggily reuniting with former classmates, some of whom you had hoped you would never run into again. You came for convenience’s sake; you stayed for the specials on tap. Somehow, the local bar has always pulled through.
For Homewood-Flossmoor residents, that establishment is Lassen’s Tap. Boasting two bars on two levels and serving crowds on even the most tired of weeknights, Lassen’s is appealing to anyone old enough to sample their wide range of spirits. And on March 28th, Homewood’s most popular tavern will conveniently house one of its most rambunctious up-and-coming rock acts, OUTDrejas.
OUTDrejas is an aptly-named group with an “outrageous” stage show and energy to match. Citing influences ranging from Buddy Guy and Disturbed to Green Day and O.A.R., this rock trio truly has something to offer every fan of music. Providing just one more reason to hang out at Lassen’s, OUTDrejas will be playing three hours of covers and original material, replete with guest musicians from the local scene, all for a mere $2. If you’re looking to sample some of the best that Homewood has to offer in terms of entertainment, look no further than this show bill.
They’ve graced the stage at Homewood’s local joint, Mama & Me Pizzeria. They’ve rocked the Doghouse Pub for a charity event (damn right, they’re nice guys, too). They opened up the stage for Puddle of Mudd at Mojoe’s in Joliet. Hell, OUTDrejas has even melted the faces of hundreds of Chicagoans at the House of Blues, if that kind of thing impresses you. Help them round out their resume by coming out and dancing your ass off at Lassen’s Tap in Homewood, IL at 8:00PM on Saturday, March 28th. Who knows? You might even have more fun than you normally do on a Saturday night, what with your crying into a glass of Pinot Grigio while listening to Barbara Streisand’s “Stoney End” on repeat. You’re not fooling anyone…
