You might not be able to tell that David Drejas is one of the most talented guitarists and entertaining frontmen you will ever see when you see him dressed as a technical architect, even though he dresses the same way on stage that he does at work. But he is.

The frontman for Chicago based OUTDrejas (pronounced like “outrageous”) combines influences as varied as George Thorogood, Green Day, and Rise Against into a high energy sound that has helped him steal the show from headliners in Chicago and Milwaukee for the better part of the last decade.

He has done this in small clubs, big arenas opening up for the Counting Crows, and huge outdoor festivals including performances at Milwaukee’s legendary Summerfest for the last ten years. Even the Chicago Bulls have gotten on the OUTDrejas bandwagon, featuring the band’s music during halftime ceremonies at several games.

“I really like high energy fast-paced rock n’ roll, as well as a lot of nerdy things. I think I do a good job creating a sound that will keep rock and punk purists happy as well as appeal to the inner geek in all of us,” says Drejas.

The band’s cover of the song Dayman from the cult classic TV series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” got the attention of co-star Gregory Scott Cummings. He liked the song so much he appeared in the music video. More recently, OUTDrejas has gotten a lot of attention with their cover of “The Office Theme” and also the theme from iconic cartoon detective “Inspector Gadget.”

Their most recent full length release, the 17 song live album “Live at The PAV”, also includes covers of the Johnny Cash smash Folsom Prison Blues and the legendary Bob Seger’s Turn the Page.

“Of course I want to be remembered for my originals, but I really want to be remembered period, and getting someone’s attention with a cool cover is a good way to get them to pay attention to my band.” This strategy, backed by a powerhouse rhythm section, has worked out nicely for the better part of the decade they have been playing around Chicago and Milwaukee clubs.
